C-Clamp Design Stability for Rooftop Mounts
The Criterium Upright Rooftop Bicycle Carrier is specially designed to deliver a precise hold on your bike, and in doing so providing a more stable ride for your vehicle during transport. The Criterium comes nearly entirely assembled, fits all Thule rack systems, as well as other round bars, is compatible with the Thule Aero profile with an additional adapter (sold separately) and most bikes with disc brakes. The key factors in the stability that the Criterium provides is the combination of its sturdy wheel tray which holds your bike wheels, the two cinchable wheel straps that quickly secure the wheels to the tray and the advanced central "frame-hold" support element which contains patented C-Clamp technology at its tip.

The C-Clamp utilized by the Criterium Upright Rooftop Bicycle Carrier sits at the end of a heavy-duty adjustable arm support that is raised from an inline position along the edge of the wheel tray and secured with a hex wrench at the angle that you choose best positions the C-Clamp to access the bike frame. The C-Clamp immobilizes your bike using an integrated dial that gently grips and holds the bike frame to achieve superior stability. To tighten the hold of the clamp simply rotate the integrated knob at the base of the arm support. To release the clamp's hold altogether press the release jaw button. Once the support element for the C-Clamp is set in a semi-permanent orientation for a specific bike or frame size, attaching or removing a bike can easily be done very quickly. The Criterium Upright Rooftop Bicycle Carrier comes assembled for use on the passenger side, but can be reconfigured for use on the drivers side. It is also compatible with the One-Key lock cylinder system (sold separately), which locks the bike to carrier and carrier to rack.

About Thule
Thule was founded in 1942 by the Thulin family, when Eric Thulin, a true lover of the outdoors, put the Thule name on a pike trap he designed and began to sell in Scandinavia. It wasn't long before he added other practical items to the company's portfolio. By the 1960s, the company began to concentrate on car-related products, including its first roof rack. The Thulin family sold Thule to the publicly listed company Eldon in 1979, and it has continued to grow both organically and through acquisitions ever since. The Thule Group is a world leader in providing transport solutions for an active life.
